Got what it takes?

Hello my friends!

It’s been a busy month and I am very excited about all the projects coming up in the near future. Is it me or there’s a wave of energy coming across as nature came back to life in full gear again? I am buzzing! And I so hope you are as well! What have you been up to lately? In this email I’m going to share some updates with you, what I’ve learnt from Joe Cross this week London and share the new dates for the Raw Food for Beginners Class in London.

In between the talks and events that happened in the past month, I managed to fit in a small getaway to my beloved Berlin for a few days during Romanian Easter and I must say: there is definitely something going on in the world! It’s getting greener! Even Stansted Airport has fresh green smoothies now on offer! And Berlin was packed with vegan places, juice and green smoothie bars and an option to eat plant based everywhere you went! Which is what I’ve mostly done over there. Guiltless. So I am very happy to return to Germany next month, this time in the Stuttgart area, to deliver a Raw Foods Class there, on the 16th of May. If you have friends around – let them know or contact me at hello@second-nature.co

Now, have you seen Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead? If not, you have to! On Monday, Joe Cross, the man behind the movie and juicing phenomenon was in London. I’ve met Joe last time he was here to promote his sequel Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead 2 and I was really excited to hear he’s back in town. So, I headed to Whole Foods Kensington for the talk. The space was packed and Joe delivered his message in a delicious Australian accent. It was great to see so many people in the audience new to juicing and others that have done 30 or 60 days of juice only. What was even more exciting was to see children in the audience that were excited about their green juice! Didn’t I tell you that there’s a change in the air? I kid you not!

Joe’s approach is very simple – add one glass of filtered water through plants once a day(aka juice), be good 70-80% of the time with clean foods and for the rest you can head to the party side of town. Pretty accurate.

That doesn’t mean you can’t make positive associations to good food as well and think it’s the party side of town. In the end food is very much so perception and memory, so you can influence what you associate it with. Love your food, add before you subtract from your diet and have fun with it. By now you should know (if you’ve at least been getting my emails or attended a class) that good, nourishing food is tasty! And yes, chocolate can be eaten for breakfast.

However, what’s most important, is the associations you create when you have a supportive community around. That’s what Joe focuses on in the second movie. After going back to the people from the first documentary and followed up on their progress the common ground was quite clear: if you get a sense of contribution from what you’re doing you’re more likely to keep on track.

Why? Because we are the sum of the people we most spend time with (on average five) and who you spend time with is who you become. That is why it is imperative for whatever journey you embark on to have a supportive environment. If it’s not at home, join a facebook group, a meetup, a class, a trip (or a retreat). Something that brings you together with like-minded people who can become your cheerleaders along the way. Build your environment so that the seeds you sow for your long term future can thrive in it. I know that is what helped me when I started, as well as keeping it going. That is exactly what the FSND2 documentary talked about and that’s what it takes to have a smooth long, lasting optimum health journey. Personally, creating the Second Nature community is my biggest drive, because it’s not just about myself anymore, which makes the journey so much more worthwhile.

Talking about the journey, boy, we’re on for a hot summer ahead! If you’re in London, Stuttgart, Romania or Europe in the next months, join the party!

Firstly, I will be teaching  a London Raw Foods for Beginners Class on Monday, 11th of May.

Secondly, it will then be followed by the one in Winnenden, DE on Saturday the 16th of May. Email hello@second-nature.co for more info.

Thirdly, on the 30th of May I will be welcoming everyone at the Raw Transylvania Retreat.  My favourite place in the world! The last few places are awaiting for you! If you need a treat and getaway in nature, this may be for you.

And last, but not least, some even more exciting news! On the 14th of June I will be doing a raw food demo at Romania’s biggest Raw Food Fair in Bucharest, Raw Generation Expo 2015

Talk about itchy feet to travel!

So, when will I see YOU next? I look forward to giving you a big, big hug and cheer you up along the journey! And if you see me first, tap me on the shoulder and claim that hug.

Until next time, stay shining!

Much love,

Denisa xxo

P.S. I got Joe’s new book for the Second Nature Library at the Retreat and he signed it with a personal message for our retreaters. Yay! Hopefully next time we meet for a picture, it will be in Romania.
